When Rekha CONFESSED she was in love with Big B: ‘What do I deny?’

When Rekha CONFESSED she was in love with Amitabh Bachchan, truly madly deeply: 'What do I deny? Of course I am…'

Veteran actress Rekha is one of the legends of Indian cinema. She has made a place in everyone’s hearts with her powerful performances, unique style, and unapologetic personality. However, her personal life, particularly her rumored love triangle with Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, has always been a subject of intense public fascination. But did you know that, in a bold interview from 2004, Rekha had openly confessed her feelings for the megastar? Let’s revisit the interview today.

Rekha confesses being in love with Amitabh Bachchan

In a 2004 episode of Simi Garewal’s talk show Rendezvous, Rekha made some of her most candid and intriguing statements about her alleged relationship with Amitabh Bachchan. When directly asked by Simi Garewal if she was ever in love with Amitabh Bachchan, Rekha’s response was refreshingly blunt. She didn’t deny it; instead, she explained the universal appeal of the superstar. She replied, “Absolutely. Duh, that’s a dumb question. I have yet to come across a single man, woman, child who can help but fall completely, passionately, insanely, desperately, hopelessly in love with him. So why should I be singled out?”Rekha then went on to clarify the extent of her feelings, adding, “What do I deny? I’m not in love with him? Of course I am. Duniya bhar ka love aap le lijiyega and add some more—I feel that for that person. Bottom line.”

But Rekha denied having any relationship with Amitabh Bachchan

Despite her powerful admission of love, Rekha denied any personal relationship with the actor. “There was never a personal connection with him; that’s the truth. Never ever. There was no truth to the controversies and speculation,” she stated in the same interview.

More about Rekha and Amitabh Bachchan

The last time the legendary duo appeared on-screen together was in Yash Chopra’s 1981 film ‘Silsila’. After the film’s release, which itself mirrored their alleged real-life love triangle, they never shared a frame again. Go to Source
