When Ranbir felt like an underachiever next to Alia

Ranbir Kapoor once admitted feeling like an 'underachiever' next to Alia Bhatt: 'She probably took every class there is – from guitar to screenwriting'

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are among the most loved couples of Bollywood, who never miss a chance to praise and shower love on their significant other. Even when this couple was dating, they spoke highly of each other on multiple occasions. One such moment was when Ranbir lovingly described his then girlfriend and now wife, Alia Bhatt, as an overachiever. Read on to know what Ranbir Kapoor exactly says about Alia in an old interview.

When Ranbir Kapoor said he felt like an underachiever next to Alia Bhatt

Once during an old interview with Rajeev Masand, Ranbir Kapoor was being candid about his life in lockdown with Alia Bhatt. He shared how the actress was keeping her engaged, and said, “My girlfriend Alia is a bit of an overachiever, and she probably took every class there is — from guitar to screenwriting.” “I always feel like an underachiever next to her,” he added.

About Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s love story

It all began on the sets of Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva’. Though it was their first movie together, it wasn’t the first time that they had worked with each other. In a conversation with Nikhil Kamath on his podcast, Ranbir Kapoor reminisced about the first time he met Alia Bhatt. Back then, Alia was only 9 years old. “It’s funny, the first time I met Alia was when she was nine years old, and I was 20. We did a photo shoot together for a movie Sanjay Leela Bhansali wanted to make, called Balika Vadhu,” revealed the actor. Before this, he expressed his contentment over finding his perfect match in Alia. He said, “I’m so lucky I married somebody who I’m extremely close to as a friend. She’s my best friend, and I got really lucky with that. She’s very colourful as a person.” Soon after tying the knot, the couple welcomed home their baby daughter, Raha, whose utter cuteness filled their world with joy.
