What if Manjulika, Raju and Baburao got locked in 'Bhooth Bangla'? Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan script hilarious PLOT - Exclusive

In an exciting blend of laughter and scares, Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan’s horror-comedy ‘Bhooth Bangla’ is set to hit theaters on April 10, 2026. During a cheeky discussion about the film, the duo playfully pondered which legendary character would outlast the frights of their haunted abode—Manjulika, Raju, or Baburao.

The iconic actor-director duo, Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan, is all set to entertain audiences with their upcoming horror-comedy ‘Bhooth Bangla’, which is scheduled to release on April 10, 2026. The film, featuring a talented ensemble cast, revolves around the story of Vadhusur, a demon who disrupts marriages in a village. In a recent conversation with ETimes, both Priyadarshan and Akshay Kumar appeared highly confident about the film, describing it as a wholesome family entertainer. During the interaction, the duo also participated in a fun guessing game, where they had to identify characters from their popular films based on given descriptions. The characters included Manjulika from ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’, and Raju and Baburao from ‘Hera Pheri’.They were then asked an interesting hypothetical: if these three characters were locked inside ‘Bhooth Bangla’, who would run away first and who would survive the longest? Priyadarshan quickly responded that Raju would last the longest, calling him a “jugaadu” and a master manipulator who could outsmart anyone.

Taking the idea further, both Akshay and Priyadarshan began humorously building a scenario around Raju’s survival tactics. “Raju will last the longest because he is jugaadu and a manipulator,” Priyadarshan said. Akshay, adding to the fun, joked, “He will put Baburao in trouble (laughs). He will convince Manjulika to go after Baburao and even trick the ghost into targeting him.” He continued, “Raju might even offer Baburao to the ghost in parts, one day a leg, the next day something else,” he quipped, wrapping up the playful exchange.’Bhooth Bangla’ boasts an ensemble cast featuring Paresh Rawal, Tabu, Rajpal Yadav, Wamiqa Gabbi, Mithila Palkar, and others in prominent roles.
