War of the Worlds leads Razzies as Ice Cube wins worst actor nod

War of the Worlds’ leads Razzie Awards 2026 as Ice Cube named worst actor for sci-fi remake

During the 2026 Razzie Awards, ‘War of the Worlds’ firmly established itself as a cinematic misfortune, bagging five dishonors, including the not-so-glorious worst picture and worst actor award for Ice Cube. Rebel Wilson and Scarlet Rose Stallone were also among the nominees in the acting categories.

Ice Cube and ‘War of the Worlds’ led the 2026 Razzie Awards, with the film taking five dishonors at the 46th annual ceremony. The sci-fi title won worst picture, while Ice Cube was named worst actor for his role in the film. The same project also picked up awards for worst director, worst screenplay, and worst prequel, remake, rip-off, or sequel. The results put ‘War of the Worlds’ at the center of this year’s Razzie list and gave the spoof awards one clear headline.

2026 Razzie Awards winners

Variety reported that ‘War of the Worlds’ “dominated at the 46th Razzie Awards, (reluctantly) taking home the dishonors for worst picture, worst actor, and more.” The outlet said Ice Cube beat Abel ‘The Weeknd’ Tesfaye for ‘Hurry Up Tomorrow,’ Dave Bautista for ‘In the Lost Lands,’ Scott Eastwood for ‘Alarum,’ and Jared Leto for ‘Tron: Ares’ in the worst actor race. The report further stated that the film’s other wins went to director Rich Lee and screenwriters Kenny Golde and Marc Hyman.

The Razzie Awards, which recognize what voters consider the year’s weakest films and performances, spread the damage beyond one title. Rebel Wilson won worst actress for ‘Bride Hard.’ Scarlet Rose Stallone took the worst supporting actress for ‘Gunslingers.’ The live-action ‘Snow White’ also landed two prizes, with “All Seven Artificial Dwarfs” winning both worst supporting actor and worst screen combo.

One of the softer moments on the list belonged to Kate Hudson. The Razzies gave her the Razzie Redeemer Award for her Oscar-nominated performance in ‘Song Sung Blue.’ The report pointed out that Hudson had received several Razzie acting nominations earlier in her career, including for ‘My Best Friend’s Girl,’ ‘Mother’s Day,’ and ‘Music.’ This time, the group recognized her comeback instead.
