Tom Holland calls Zendaya his ‘lifeline’ and best actor

Tom Holland calls Zendaya his 'lifeline' and says she is 'the best actor going' in Hollywood today

Tom Holland has paid a heartfelt tribute to his partner Zendaya, saying he could not do what he does without her. The Spider-Man star spoke openly about his admiration for Zendaya both as a partner and as an actress, in what fans have quickly called one of the most genuine celebrity tributes in recent memory.”It’s a lifeline, it really is. I couldn’t imagine doing what I do without her,” Holland said of his relationship with Zendaya.Appearing on ‘Good Hang With Amy Poehler’, Holland celebrated his love for Zendaya, who recently reprised the role of Rue in the third and final season of ‘Euphoria’.

Tom Holland on Zendaya as an actress

Holland was effusive in his praise for Zendaya’s work, particularly highlighting her recent performances. “I think what I love about watching her work as an actress is she’s just fearless,” he said. “She’s just like absolutely 10 toes down, ‘I’m going to give this everything’. And I think when you watch her as Rue in that show, she could not be more different to who she is in real life.”Zendaya also recently starred opposite Robert Pattinson in ‘The Drama’. Holland referenced both performances in his tribute. “If you see her as Emma in ‘The Drama’, it’s just such a different performance, but with no less intent or passion or drive. I think she’s the best actor going. I really think she has something special,” he said.

Tom Holland on having Zendaya as a partner in the industry

Holland also spoke about what it means to have someone by his side who truly understands the pressures of life in the entertainment industry. “It’s a wild world being in this industry and there are ups and downs and you go from shooting a movie, which is when we’re all at our most comfortable, and then you do a press tour, which feels like you’re kind of standing out on the stage,” he said. “It’s so nice to have someone that understands that in such a personal way so that you can talk each other down or you can big each other up. It’s a lifeline, it really is. I couldn’t imagine doing what I do without her.”

Tom Holland and Zendaya’s relationship

The couple first met while filming 2017’s ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’, with their romance confirmed in November 2021 ahead of the release of ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’. Reports in March suggested the couple may have already married, after Zendaya’s stylist Law Roach told a media outlet that the nuptials had “already happened” and the press had “missed it.” Speculation further grew when Zendaya was spotted wearing a gold band on her left hand at Paris Fashion Week.

What’s next for Tom Holland and Zendaya

The couple are set to share the screen together in two major upcoming projects. Holland and Zendaya will both appear in Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated epic ‘The Odyssey’, releasing in cinemas on July 17, and will also reprise their roles as Peter Parker and MJ in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’, set for release on July 31, 2026.
