Kangana says John gave title ‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’ for FREE

Kangana Ranaut reveals John Abraham gave her film's title 'Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata' for FREE: 'Usually, people don't give up'

In a rare act of generosity within Bollywood, actor John Abraham handed over a registered film title to Kangana Ranaut without charging a single rupee. The title in question, ‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’, is now the name of her upcoming film about the heroic nurses of Mumbai’s Cama Hospital during the 26/11 terror attacks. The actress made the revelation at the film’s trailer launch, calling John’s gesture truly uncommon in the industry.

Kangana Ranaut reveals John Abraham gave her title without charging any fee

According to the NDTV report, Kangana Ranaut shared that ‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’ was not always the film’s title. She added that it was originally called ‘Nurses of Cama’, a straightforward reference to its subject. However, as the project took shape, the team felt the title needed to better reflect the film’s larger message and emotional core.At the trailer launch event, Kangana revealed that the title had already been registered and belonged to John Abraham. The actress said, “The film was previously called ‘Nurses of Cama’. We wanted to change it to ‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’. When we thought about this title, we realised it was already registered. But when we requested John Abraham, who had the title, he gave it to us within a day. Usually, people don’t give up titles, but he did, without even charging us for it. So, I am very grateful to him.”

For Kangana, renaming the film was not a cosmetic decision. The actress stated that she believes ‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’ captures the spirit of ordinary people rising to perform extraordinary acts of courage. In this case, the story is about the nurses who shielded nearly 400 lives during one of India’s darkest nights. The film sheds a light on an often-overlooked chapter of the 26/11 attacks, honouring the bravery of Cama Hospital’s nursing staff, who put themselves in harm’s way to protect those in their care.
