Tom Hanks supports Rita Wilson’s Broadway project ‘Celebrity Autobiography’ on opening night

Tom Hanks, the acclaimed actor known for films like ‘Forrest Gump,’ ‘A Man Called Otto,’ and ‘The Terminal,’ was all smiles as he supported his wife Rita Wilson at the opening night of the new comedy play ‘Celebrity Autobiography,’ which she has produced.

Tom Hanks suits up for the opening night of ‘Celebrity Autobiography’

Dressed in a stylish navy blue suit, Hanks happily posed for the cameras on Monday, May 18, 2026, at the Shubert Theatre in New York City. Meanwhile, Rita Wilson shared warm moments with the cast members of the play, including Gayle King, Nia Vardalos, Andrea Martin, Bobby Moynihan, and Kenan Thompson, among others, according to Just Jared.Created by Emmy-nominated writer-performer Eugene Pack, the play features a rotating cast of celebrities from television, film, theatre, sports, and politics, with the lineup changing for every performance. The limited Broadway run of ‘Celebrity Autobiography’ will continue through August 16.

Rita Wilson’s contribution to Broadway

Wilson is no stranger to the world of theatre and has continued to remain actively involved in Broadway over the years. She made her Broadway debut in Chicago as Roxie Hart in 2006, before going on to star in Fish in the Dark in 2015 and Left on Tenth in 2024, according to People magazine.Meanwhile, Tom Hanks has appeared on Broadway only once, in the 2013 production of Lucky Guy.
