THIS veteran actor was once thrown out of his house

THIS actor, who has done over 500 films, was once thrown out of his house by the landlord: ‘I remember sleeping on beach’

With over 500 movies under his belt, this Bollywood actor has always been hailed for his craft. He made his debut in 1984, and was only 28 year old when he played a 65 year old character in his first film. He is none other than the ‘Saaransh’ fame star Anupam Kher. Anupam Kher gave his entire life to acting and today is counted among the most loved and respected stars of the industry. However, life was not a cakewalk for him in the beginning. Initially, he also faced his fair share of rejections and challenged. There was a time, he was even thrown out of the house with family, as he could not pay his rent.

When Anupam Kher couldn’t pay his rent and was thrownout

Recalling the hard times in an interview with the Screen, Anupam Kher shared that in 1983 he, along with his brother mother and two friends, shared a single room. The rent of the room was overdue for more than three months and he was supposed to pay Rs 2,100 by evening. “The landlord kept our luggage outside.. I remember sleeping on the beach on a newspaper, because there was no place to stay,” shared the actor.

When Anupam Kher felt humiliated during a narration

In the same conversation, Anupam Kher continued that during his struggle period he came across an offer, where the producer agreed to give him a signing amount but on a condition. Kher was supposed to act upon the lines during the narration. Describing the whole incident ‘atrocious,’ Anupam Kher shared, “I realised while he was narrating it, that he wants me to act out the lines. So, if the line is about rains, I had to pretend it is raining, gushing winds, I had to pretend I am being blown.” Not just this, the producer would put the bundle of money near Anupam, but the moment he would try to take it, he pulled it away. “This was the humiliation,” recalled Kher.

Anupam Kher didn’t give up

Though the actor faced multiple challenges, he didn’t stop. From one role to another, he transitioned and proved his versatility in the field. In the second innings of his line and career, he focused on maintaining a healthy lifestyle and gave fintess goals to many. Go to Source
