Ranbir Kapoor contracts conjunctivitis after daughter Raha, ahead of Ramayana' Delhi event, the actor will attend it in black glasses

Ranbir Kapoor is all set to attend the much-awaited trailer launch of ‘Ramayana’, but the actor is likely to make an appearance with black glasses for an unexpected reason. Just days before the grand event in Delhi, Ranbir has reportedly developed conjunctivitis. Despite the eye infection, the actor has decided not to miss the launch and will be present at the star-studded ceremony as scheduled.According to a source close to the actor, who was quoted by Hindustan Times, the infection was first contracted by his daughter, Raha. Like many parents who care for their children during such illnesses, Ranbir is believed to have caught conjunctivitis from her. “Ranbir Kapoor got conjunctivitis. His daughter Raha got it first, and like any doting father, Ranbir got infected too..”The source further revealed that the actor remains committed to attending the event despite the discomfort. “As Team Ramayana is all set for the massive Pratham Sankalp at Bharat Mandapam, Delhi, RK, who is always known for fulfilling his commitments, will maybe seen wearing black glasses during the event as a precaution,” the source added. The trailer of Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious mythological epic is reportedly set to be unveiled on July 18 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, marking one of the biggest film events of the year.Director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra are expected to lead the launch, with several members of the cast in attendance. However, it remains unclear whether Yash, who essays Ravana, and Sunny Deol, who plays Lord Hanuman, will join the celebrations.Following the Delhi launch, the team will take ‘Ramayana’ to the global stage with a special presentation at San Diego Comic-Con on July 23. The film will become only the second Indian title after ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ to be showcased at the internationally renowned event. Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Namit Malhotra are expected to represent the film there.Made on a reported budget of Rs 4,000 crore, ‘Ramayana’ is one of the most expensive and ambitious films ever mounted in Indian cinema. The project also boasts a unique musical collaboration between AR Rahman and Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer. The official SDCC listing offers a glimpse into the epic’s premise: “In an age of gods and kings, the fate of worlds hangs in the balance. Rama, a prince bound by duty, sacrifice, and the greater good, must face Ravana, an immortal ruler driven by pride and vengeance, powerful enough to shatter the cosmos.”Backed by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, ‘Ramayana’ is being developed as a two-part saga. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the first installment is slated for a Diwali 2026 release, while the concluding chapter is scheduled to arrive in theatres during Diwali 2027.
