The OTT giant confirmed that ‘The Girlfriend’ would stream from December 5. Sharing the poster on social media, the platform captioned, “Meet Bhooma Devi, The Girlfriend MA Literature :).”

Directed and written by actor and director Rahul Ravindran, ‘The Girlfriend’ tells the story of Bhooma, played by Rashmika Madanna, as a postgraduate college student. She is shown to have been tricked into falling for Vikram, played by Dheekshith Shetty. Vikram is seen as a charming guy, but little did she know that he entraps her in an emotionally manipulative and toxic relationship.The film is getting huge praise for Rashmika Mandanna’s portrayal and performance. The team, especially the director, is also receiving love for portraying the harsh realities that many women silently experience.
