Although Rashmika Mandanna’s ‘The Girlfriend’ didn’t make waves in theaters, it is all set to captivate audiences on Netflix on December 11, 2025. The film, crafted with a budget of Rs 42 crore, has struck a promising deal, earning Rs 14 crore for its digital rights. Read on to know more.

The Rashmika Mandanna starrer ‘The Girlfriend’ has been receiving praise since its release on November 7, 2025. However, the movie didn’t score big at the box office. The film is nearing the end of its theatrical run. Now, a report about its digital debut has surfaced on the internet. Let’s take a look at it.

‘The Girlfriend’ OTT release

The makers of ‘The Girlfriend’ have already made a good OTT deal. As per the report, the producers have given the streaming rights to Netflix for a whopping amount of Rs 14 crore. At the box office, the film has managed to earn Rs 16.29 crore. Meanwhile, the reported budget of the movie is Rs 42 crore.According to the OTT Play report, the film will be out on the streaming platform on December 11, 2025. However, the makers are yet to announce it officially as of now.

Directed by Rahul Ravindran, the movie also starred Deekshith Shetty as the male lead. His performance in a negative role received a lot of appreciation from the audience. The movie also stars Anu Emmanuel, Rahul Ravindran, Rao Ramesh, and Rohini Molleti.Reportedly, it has been shot in Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, and other scenic locations in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Hesham Abdul Wahab has composed the music of the movie.Rashmika plays the role of a girl who is stuck in a toxic relationship in the movie. The movie is about her journey of how she removes herself from her miserable situation.Reportedly, the movie was supposed to be made as a web series. However, the makers shifted their decision and opted for a theatrical release.
