Aishwarya Rai Bachchan touches PM Narendra Modi’s feet; gives a stirring speech on 'humanity' and 'religion of love' - VIDEO

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made a memorable appearance at the centenary celebrations of Shri Sathya Sai Baba in Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh. While her powerful speech on humanity won warm appreciation, it was her gesture of touching Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s feet that became the most talked-about moment of the event.

Aishwarya Rai seen sharing stage with leaders

On Wednesday, the ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ actress joined a long list of guests at the centenary celebrations. The event was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, along with devotees who had travelled from across the country to honour the late spiritual leader. Aishwarya stepped onto the stage looking composed and grateful, ready to deliver one of the day’s most heartfelt speeches.

Aishwarya Rai gives a powerful speech

Opening her speech with emotion, the ‘Jodhaa Akbar’ actress said, “On this historic and sacred occasion of the centenary celebrations of Bhagawan Shri Sathya Sai Baba, my heart is filled with deep devotion and gratitude. Though a century may have passed since his divine birth, his presence, his principles, his teachings, guidance and his compassion continue to reverberate in the hearts of millions worldwide.”

Aishwarya Rai praises PM Modi

The ‘Guru’ actress continued by giving a special message to Prime Minister Modi. She said, “I extend a heartfelt thank you to our honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji for being here with us today and for honouring this special occasion. I am looking forward to listening to your wise words, impactful and inspiring as always, to enthral us today.”Rai further added, “Your presence here adds sanctity and inspiration to this centenary celebration and reminds us of Swami’s message that true leadership is service, and service to man is service to God.”

Aishwarya Rai recalls her teachings from early Bal Vikas days

The ‘Dhoom 2’ actress shared that she had always carried the values of Shri Sathya Sai Baba with her. Speaking about her spiritual learning, she said, “As I stand here today, with all humility and honesty, I can say that I always kept his divine message close to my heart and put it into practice in life. Once a Bal Vikas student, always a Bal Vikas student. Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba often spoke about the five D’s. Five essential qualities needed for a meaningful, purposeful and spiritually anchored life- Discipline, Dedication, Devotion, Determination, and Discrimination.”Aishwarya’s speech also carried a strong message of harmony and universal love. She said, “There is only one caste, the caste of humanity. There is only one religion, the religion of love. There is only one language, the language of the heart, and there is only one God, and he is omnipresent.”

Aishwarya Rai on the work front

Aishwarya Rai was last seen in Mani Ratnam’s epic historical action-drama ‘Ponniyin Selvan II’, which released in 2023. The film featured an ensemble cast including Ravi Mohan, Karthi, Trisha Krishnan, Jayaram, Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar, Sobhita Dhulipala, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Vikram Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Rahman, and R.
