Varun Dhawan’s ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ to cross Baby John’s week 1 collection by tonight

Varun Dhawan’s latest film, ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari,’ is underperforming at the box office, earning just Rs 36.21 crore in six days. Despite praise for his performance, the movie’s execution and storyline have disappointed fans. This follows a string of less successful projects, raising concerns about his recent film choices.

Varun Dhawan has been a darling of the masses thanks to his films like Student of the Year, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, ABCD 2 , Judwaa 2 and many more. But over the last few years his film choices have not been connecting with his loyal fan base. He even went down the action road with projects like Citadel: Honey Bunny and Baby John but even they didn’t click. For his latest release he teamed up with his most successful director Shashank Khaitan for Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. But the film has been struggling at the ticket window since day 1. And it is less to do with it clashing with Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1. Both films were released on 2nd October. Though Varun is being praised for his act in the film, the total execution and storyline of the film which left the fans down. The film in 6 days has earned just Rs 36.21 crore as per Sacnilk and is looking at a week 1 collection of just a little more than Rs 40 crore mark. To give perspective Varun’s last release was Baby John and its week 1 collection was Rs 36.4 crore which Sunny Sanskari will cross only on it’s 7th day. Baby John’s total collection was Rs 39.5 crore. Varun will be next seen in JP Dutta and Anurag Singh’s Border 2 where he will share screen space with Sunny Deol, Ahan Shetty and Diljit Dosanjh. Post that he has his father David Dhawan’s Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai with Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hedge. He has also signed up No Entry 2 with Arjun Kapoor, directed by Anees Bazmee, earlier Diljit was also supposed to be part of the film but due to date clashes he stepped out of the film. Producer Boney Kapoor is looking for a suitable replacement for him. Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari also features Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra and Rohit Saraf.
