Suniel Shetty says box office anxiety never goes away: ‘One Friday you may be on top…’

Suniel Shetty, who has over 100 films to his name, has admitted that the nervousness surrounding a film’s release never truly fades as he gears up for his upcoming comedy drama ‘Welcome to the Jungle’. The actor shared his feelings about the movie featuring one of the largest ensemble casts in recent Bollywood history. Let’s take a look at what he has to say in detail.

Suniel Shetty admits pre-release fear never goes away

Despite decades of experience, Suniel Shetty said that the anxiety that comes with every Friday release remains very much alive. Speaking to ANI, the actor was candid about the emotional uncertainty that even seasoned stars feel when a new project approaches its box office verdict. He said, “Yes, absolutely. Everything is connected to it. A film’s success is tied to its box office performance. One Friday you may be on top, and the next Friday you may not. So yes, there’s always excitement, anxiety, tension, and nervous anticipation.”

Suniel Shetty says a stellar cast adds a safety net to the film

Suniel Shetty also acknowledged that ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ carries a significant advantage: its extraordinary cast. He said, “That said, this film has an incredible ensemble cast: Akshay, Paresh ji, Johnny bhai, Arshad, Tusshar, Shreyas, Daler paaji, and many others. There’s a certain safety net that comes with having such talented people together.”At the same time, the actor was honest about the unpredictable nature of audience reception. He explained, “The film is truly very entertaining. I can’t say whether it’s good or bad because everyone’s perspective is different. When we watch the film, we enjoy it immensely. But when the audience watches it on Friday, their perspective can be completely different.”

Directed by Ahmed Khan, the film follows a group on a mission to track down a once-famous actor whose career has gone downhill after a series of flops. The recently released trailer, running over four minutes, places Akshay Kumar at the centre of the chaotic and comedic adventure.’Welcome to the Jungle’ features one of the biggest ensemble casts assembled for a Bollywood comedy in recent times.
