Sobhita reused her Ponniyin Selvan jewellery for wedding

Sobhita Dhulipala reused her Ponniyin Selvan jewellery for wedding; designer calls Aishwarya Rai a ‘thorough professional’

Sobhita Dhulipala’s bridal look at her wedding with Naga Chaitanya may have looked effortless and rooted in tradition, but it came with a story that began years earlier—on the sets of Ponniyin Selvan. The designer also spoke about her experience working with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, underlining the level of precision the actress brings to her craft.

Sobhita Dhulipala’s bridal look at her wedding with Naga Chaitanya may have looked effortless and rooted in tradition, but it came with a story that began years earlier—on the sets of Ponniyin Selvan.Jewellery designer Pratiksha Prashant has now revealed that what the actress wore on her big day wasn’t just a style choice, but a promise she had made long ago.

‘She was very clear from the beginning’

Opening up about their collaboration, Pratiksha recalled how Sobhita had already envisioned her wedding look while working on the film.“She wore our jewellery in the film and then at her wedding. She was very clear from the beginning… she told me, ‘Pratiksha, I’m going to wear your jewellery when I get married’,” she shared in a chat with Fashionably Pernia. For Sobhita, it wasn’t just about aesthetics—it was about continuity and personal meaning.Praising her sense of style, Pratiksha added, “Even in the film, she looked incredible. She has something about her own style. She’s very stylish and has a very good taste.”

‘Aishwarya Rai is not like that just like that’

The designer also spoke about her experience working with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, underlining the level of precision the actress brings to her craft.“She is not Aishwarya Rai just like that. I have seen the amount of precision she needs—with her dress, her style, her costume. Even a single pin, she would not want it to be seen in the hairdo,” she said. Sharing a striking anecdote, Pratiksha revealed, “She’s particular about how she looks from every angle. A thorough professional. I remember one scene where she was given an organza dupatta—on set, she didn’t sit for six to seven hours because she didn’t want it to crease. I’ve seen it with my own eyes.”
