Shahid Kapoor in talks to face off against Jr NTR in Prashanth Neel's 'Dragon' after Tovino Thomas exits - Reports

Jr NTR’s upcoming film ‘Dragon’, directed by Prashanth Neel, is reportedly eyeing Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor for a pivotal role. Kapoor is in talks to replace Tovino Thomas, who exited due to scheduling conflicts. The film also features Rukmini Vasanth as the female lead and Anil Kapoor in a key part.

Jr NTR will be seen in the upcoming movie, said to be named ‘Dragon’, directed by ‘KGF’ and ‘Salaar’ filmmaker Prashanth Neel. As the film is currently in the shooting process, the latest buzz suggests that Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor might lock horns with the ‘RRR’ star.As per Telugu Chitraalu, Shahid Kapoor might join the project as he is in talks with the makers. Earlier, Malayalam star Tovino Thomas was expected to play an important role in the film. But now, he has stepped out of the project. He has date issues with his Malayalam films. Because of this, the team is now looking for a new actor. This is how Shahid Kapoor’s name came into the picture. If things go well, he may take over that role.

Cast of ‘Dragon’

Speaking of the other cast members, ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ star Rukmini Vasanth will play the female lead. Bollywood’s veteran star Anil Kapoor will play a key role alongside Jr NTR, marking his second outing with him. Both actors shared screen in the spy-thriller ‘War 2,’ which was also Jr NTR’s debut in Hindi films. Other details regarding the film are yet to be officially made.

Makers dismiss cancellation rumours

Recently, reports circulating online suggested the film project might have been cancelled. In response, the makers shared a message debunking these claims. They shared a message on their X account and said, “There is absolutely no truth to the rumours circulating about the look or any schedule cancellation. The film is progressing as planned, with only a routine preparation gap. We request everyone not to believe or spread unverified information. Official updates will always come from us. #NTRNeel.”

Shahid Kapoor’s next film
