'Hardest phase of life': Shaan’s wife Radhika Mukherji opens up about depression, credits the singer for support

Radhika Mukherji, wife of singer Shaan, revealed she battled severe depression over the past year. Sharing her healing journey on Instagram, she credited her husband and family for their unwavering support. Radhika also celebrated earning a diploma in Integrative Counselling Therapy, calling it her proudest birthday gift.

Bollywood singer Shaan’s wife, Radhika Mukherji, is not only an entrepreneur but also a strong advocate for mental health awareness. Recently, she shared that she had been struggling with depression over the past year and spoke candidly about her experience on social media. Describing it as “one of the most difficult periods” of her life, Radhika penned a heartfelt birthday note on Instagram on May 21. In the emotional post, she also expressed gratitude to her husband for standing by her side and supporting her throughout the challenging time.

Taking to Instagram, Radhika shared a glimpse of her diploma in integrative counselling therapy. Along with the post, she penned a heartfelt note that read, “Thank you everyone for the beautiful birthday wishes, the love, the calls, the messages and the warmth. I felt every bit of it. This year feels different. Personal. Powerful. Full circle.”

She also opened up about her struggle with severe depression and expressed gratitude towards her husband, Shaan, and her family for standing by her during the difficult time. In her note, she wrote, “I’ve never hidden the fact that I went through depression. It was one of the hardest phases of my life. But I also never stopped believing that healing was possible and I know I could not have done it without the unwavering support of my family…my husband @singer_shaan , my children @sohamukherji @maahiforyou my sisters and my parents who held me through it all”.

Reflecting on the emotional and mental challenges she faced over the past year, Radhika shared that her journey helped her grow more self-aware and focus on healing. Speaking about the positive changes in her life, she wrote, “Today, I stand in a very different space. Happier. Lighter. More aware. More authentic to who I truly am”.

Radhika also shared that earning her diploma in ‘Integrative Counselling Therapy’ was the most meaningful gift she could have given herself on her birthday. Expressing pride in her personal journey and achievements, she concluded the caption by writing, “My present to myself this year was growth. And I think this may be my proudest birthday yet”.
