According to the latest reports, the actors and actresses’ fashion-forward looks for the evening, commanded significant attention on social media, as per the latest Red Carpet Power Rankings. The data shows that luxury brands featured on the red carpet generated a combined $146.48 million in earned media engagement.

Selena Gomez tops power ranking

The rankings, compiled by The Hollywood Reporter and data analytics firm Launchmetrics, analysed five categories, namely, top fashion brands, top women and men on the red carpet, jewellery and watch brands, and accessory brands. As always, actresses and their fashion choices scored high on digital engagement.Selena Gomez, who made her first appearance on the Golden Globes red carpet as a married woman, topped the list with USD 7.2 million in Media Impact Value (MIV).

Not far behind her, was Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra, who, with the help of her 94 million followers on Instagram, generated USD 5.9 million in MIV for just her gown and another USD 4.9 million for her luxury jewellery ensemble. While she did not top the list, the collective total hit an impressive USD 10.8 million. In the men’s section, ‘Heated Rivalry’ may not have struck gold, but its leading men, Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie dominated the power rankings category and boosted engagement through their red carpet and broadcast appearances with each featuring twice on the list.
