Seema feels she, Manoj Pahwa should take therapy: ‘Loneliness’

Seema Pahwa feels she and Manoj Pahwa should take family therapy: 'There’s a loneliness'

In a candid conversation, veteran actors Seema and Manoj Pahwa, known for their roles in the freshly launched web series ‘Perfect Family,’ shared their transformative journey with therapy. Seema likened a family therapist to that crucial family doctor, emphasizing their importance for navigating life’s complexities.

Manoj Pahwa and his wife Seema Pahwa’s new web series, ‘Perfect Family’, with Gulshan Devaiah and Girija Oak Godbole, has premiered online. The show has been receiving praise for the performances of the actors. And in a recent interaction, the veteran actors were asked to share their views on therapy.

Seema Pahwa shares her views on therapy

In an interview with SCREEN, Seema Pahwa was asked if her earlier views about not understanding therapy have changed. To which the veteran actress shared, “In fact, I figured out a long time ago that I need therapy, but I didn’t know where to go.” She added that the therapist should be a third person and not someone from the family and who can tell her where she is going wrong. She said, “I believe there should be a family therapist, just like there’s a family doctor. The family needs a third eye.”Seema even encouraged going for therapy even if there are no issues in the family, just like routine medical checkups.

Seema Pahwa and Manoj Pahwa agree that they now need therapy

During the same conversation, Seema Pahwa was asked if she has taken family therapy yet. The actress shared they have not. She revealed that they have discussed that they should. Elaborating on the same, she said, “Because now, we’ll start a new journey at 60 plus, both personally and professionally. Both our kids have gotten married and moved out. So, now there’s a loneliness between the two of us. I think this is the right time to get a therapist involved.”Manoj Pahwa, who was also part of the interview, gave a funny answer. He quipped that they will need a therapist now, since the kids are not there with them.He said, “Ab issey pehle koi direct confrontation ho jaye, issey pehle kisi therapist ko beech mei laa ke khada kar. ‘Tu dekh liyo, bhai.’ Usi ke upar daal denge ki dekh bhai ye kya kar raha hai (Before this turns into a direct confrontation, bring a therapist in between. ‘Now it’s on, brother.’ We’ll put it all on him and say, ‘Look, brother, see what he’s doing).”
