Lokesh Kanagaraj film shoot props mistaken for AK-47 rifles

Lokesh Kanagaraj film shoot props mistaken for AK-47 rifles in Chennai; Is promo loading for the Allu Arjun starrer?

Chennai police mistook film props for real AK-47 rifles during a vehicle check. The weapons were for a Lokesh Kanagaraj film shoot. The discovery caused brief panic but was quickly resolved. This incident has fueled speculation about a promo for Allu Arjun’s upcoming film, AA23. Fans anticipate an action-packed release.

In Chennai, strict vehicle checks are being conducted as part of routine monitoring throughout the city. During one such check in Ashok Nagar, officials stopped a minivan for inspection. The routine search took an unexpected twist: the vehicle contained more than twelve guns, ranging from AK-47s to other makes. The finding of the guns caused immediate fear among the passengers who happened to be in the vicinity.

However, the scene changed in minutes. The guns were later discovered to be props for a film shoot, according to Cinema Express. Upon further inspection, officials revealed that the artefacts belonged to the film directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. These were being carried away after a shoot and were actually on their way back to Vadapalani shop. In due course, possession-related documents and permissions were shown to the authorities, and the team was allowed to leave.

Viral buzz around the AK-47 seizure incident in Chennai

The news about “AK-47 rifles seized in Chennai” spread quickly and briefly created panic. But when the truth emerged, the situation turned into a light-hearted moment. Many people on social media started sharing memes and jokes, saying even officials were surprised by a “cinema-style twist.” Some users joked that real guns were not found, only “reel guns”.

Public inconvenience and similar incidents raise concerns

This is not the first time such incident has occurred. Recently, imitation jewellery was also seized during a check, only to be later identified as fake items used for business. While these checks are necessary for security, they inconvenience the public. The AK-47 prop situation underscored how swiftly fear can escalate, only to be replaced by a wave of relief just as rapidly.

Is the ‘AA23’ promo loading?

Meanwhile, Lokesh Kanagaraj’s filming using an AK-47 raised speculation about his next project, which is announced to star Allu Arjun. The director might have filmed a promo for the film tentatively titled ‘AA23’, and fans expect an action-packed promo to be released soon on a special day. Go to Source
