Saif recalled his life lying in Jeh’s room after stabbing incident

Saif Ali Khan recalled his entire life after getting stabbed while lying in Jeh's room before being rushed to the hospital: 'There's a crazy sense of...'

In January this year, Saif Ali Khan faced a terrifying ordeal when an intruder broke into his Mumbai home in the middle of the night. The actor woke up to his staff screaming, only to find himself in a scuffle with the trespasser who had entered through his younger son Jeh’s bedroom. In an attempt to protect his children Taimur and Jeh, the actor was stabbed six times and rushed to the hospital. He underwent a surgery and was at home after a week. In a recent interview Saif has reflected on this incident and how he looks at it now. He could have lost his life but was lucky and bounced back. Saif opened up on his feelings and said in an interview with Esquire India, “There’s this crazy sense of how lucky one is because [the knife attack] was damn close. And to walk away relatively unscathed is nothing short of miraculous.” The ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ actor confessed that while he was just laying down after being stabbed, his entire life played in front of his eyes. He added, “It could have been the adrenaline but I remember thinking life has been colourful and I’ve been privileged to be in many places… not just in terms of money, so many people have much more money, but when I think of that rarefied atmosphere of Winchester, of all my travels with loved ones, the wine, my wife, my children…”Kareena Kapoor was at home at the time of the invasion. The attacker injured both Saif and the nanny before fleeing the premises. A fragment of the weapon remained lodged in Saif’s back, and in a surreal turn, he was rushed to the hospital in an auto rickshaw, where doctors performed emergency surgery. Thankfully, he has since made a full recovery.Reflecting on what he hopes for his children now, the actor said, “Calmness, patience, discipline, balance. You have to work quite hard for everything to be in its right place.”Since the incident, Saif and Kareena have been protective about their children and have even requested the paps to not click pictures of Jeh and Taimur anymore for safety and security reasons. On work front, Saif was last seen in ‘Jewel Thief’. He’s been shooting for Priyadarshan’s next with Akshay Kumar.
