'Shah Rukh Khan is like this': Farah Khan recalls 'King' star flying out the entire cast and crew of 'Happy New Year' to Dubai for premiere

Farah Khan revealed during a cooking vlog with Shreyas Talpade that Shah Rukh Khan personally paid to fly the entire cast and crew of around 50 people to Dubai for the ‘Happy New Year’ premiere. Shah Rukh also gave up his Rs 42 lakh share for ‘Deool Band 2’.

Farah Khan visited actor Shreyas Talpade’s home as part of one of her popular cooking vlogs featuring her cook Dilip. The two reminisced, chatting about the films they had collaborated on and catching up on Shreyas’ upcoming work. The conversation also took an interesting turn when Farah brought up Shah Rukh Khan’s big-hearted gesture, recalling how the superstar personally footed the bill to fly the entire cast and crew of around 50 people to Dubai for the premiere of ‘Happy New Year’.

When the conversation turned to Shreyas’ upcoming production Mardini, Farah applauded the remarkable quality of films coming out of the Marathi film industry. She said, “Aajkal kitni alag alag movies aarahi hai, especially in Marathi. Unbelievable, what business they are doing. Ek toh pehle Riteish ki picture (Raja Shivaji) aur fir jo dusri aayi, jiska paisa Shah Rukh ne chodh diya tha, Deool Band 2. 42 lakhs he let go (These days, so many different kinds of films are being made, especially in Marathi cinema. It’s unbelievable how well they’re doing at the box office. First, there was Riteish’s film (Raja Shivaji), and then there was another one, Deool Band 2, for which Shah Rukh gave up his share of the money. He let go of Rs. 42 lakh).”

Farah added, “Shah Rukh is like this. He took everyone along when he went to London for the Om Shanti Om premiere. That time, you were just four people, but in Happy New Year, he took 50 people to Dubai for the premiere. He took everybody DOP, music director and assistant director. But we were so tired, the whole star cast fell asleep at the premiere.”

About ‘Happy New Year’ cast and box office performance

‘Happy New Year’ featured an ensemble cast that included Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood, and Vivaan Shah in lead roles, with Jackie Shroff also appearing in a pivotal part. The film was a major commercial success at the box office.

Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film ‘King’ to release on December 24

On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan has the highly anticipated ‘King’ lined up for release. The action thriller, directed by Siddharth Anand, sees the superstar sharing screen space with Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, and his daughter Suhana Khan, who also feature in significant roles.
