Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh once looked back on a prank from his dating days with Genelia D’Souza that went entirely wrong and changed how he approached humor in their relationship. The incident came up during a past appearance on ‘The Kapil Sharma Show,’ where the couple openly reflected on their early years together. What began as a harmless joke quickly became an emotional moment that stuck with Riteish and became one of the most-discussed stories from their relationship.

A prank that ended all pranks

Riteish told Kapil Sharma that he once tried to joke with Genelia by pretending to end their relationship. he made the call himself and said they were breaking up. The joke failed instantly. Genelia took the message seriously and reacted with genuine emotion. Her response stunned Riteish. What began as a first film together later led to their wedding in 2012. They now have two sons, Riaan and Rahyl. Genelia returned to acting after motherhood with films such as ‘It’s My Life’, ‘Mister Mummy’, ‘Trial Period’, and ‘Ved’, and later appeared in ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’.
