Rinku invites SRK to wedding, recalls private jet ride

Rinku Singh says Shah Rukh Khan couldn’t attend his engagement but has invited him to his wedding, recalls their private jet ride: ‘I was completely nervous’

Rinku Singh and Priya Saroj have become the newest power couple on the block, with their engagement turning into a headline-making affair. The star cricketer, who has captured fans’ imagination with his fearless batting, recently revealed how he personally invited team co-owner and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan to the event, and also recalled a memorable flight with the actor that left him nervous yet inspired.

Engagement with Priya Saroj

Rinku and Priya’s engagement was no less than a star-studded spectacle. With members of the cricketing world and political circles in attendance, the event officially confirmed what fans had long speculated about their chemistry. The Kolkata Knight Riders batter revealed that he personally invited team co-owner and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan to the ceremony. However, SRK couldn’t make it.“I had a chat with Shah Rukh Sir before my engagement and even invited him. But he couldn’t make it as he was busy with some shooting. Our CEO, Venky (Mysore) sir, was there,” Rinku told News24.

‘Shah Rukh Sir has promised to dance at my wedding’

Back in 2023, when Rinku rose to fame after smashing five sixes against Gujarat Titans’ Yash Dayal, Shah Rukh Khan had famously promised to attend his wedding and dance at the celebrations. That memory still motivates Rinku.“I have invited Shah Rukh Sir to my wedding as well. Let’s see if he comes,” he said, while also hinting that his family has proposed a tentative wedding date in November 2025.

A private flight with SRK

While Khan couldn’t make it to the engagement, Rinku recalled a heartwarming gesture from the actor that remains etched in his memory. In 2024, after he wasn’t selected in India’s main squad for the T20 World Cup and had to travel to Mumbai for visa formalities, Rinku got a surprise invitation from Shah Rukh to fly with him on his private chartered jet.“So this was the time when I wasn’t selected in the main squad — I was in the standby list. My flight had already been booked, and I was about to leave alone. Somehow, either Sir or Pooja ma’am found out, and they said I should travel with Sir. I was completely nervous — like, ‘I’m going to travel alone with Sir? How will I handle myself? What will I say?’ I tried so many times to refuse,” Rinku told RevSportz. But SRK’s warmth and encouragement made the journey unforgettable. “Once Sir had said it, how could I say no? He gave me a lot of encouragement. That season also wasn’t going too well for me. He was explaining things, giving me support. And for the first time, I sat in a charter flight — that too, with Sir. Those two hours were really, really amazing for me. What can I even say, it was just incredible,” he recalled. Go to Source
