Riddhima on being the oldest Kapoor to make debut, says father Rishi is blessing her

Riddhima Kapoor Sahni on being the oldest Kapoor to make debut at the age of 45, says father Rishi Kapoor is blessing her in everything

Ranbir Kapoor’s sister Riddhima Kapoor is gearing up for her Bollywood debut with ‘Daadi Ki Shaadi’. The film also features Neetu Kapoor and Kapil Sharma. At 45, Riddhima becomes the oldest member of the Kapoor family to step into acting for the first time. She had previously appeared on ‘Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives’.Riddhima opened up on making her debut and said, “It truly feels surreal and deeply emotional. There’s a sense of everything coming full circle… I know my father is always with me, blessing me in anything and everything that I choose to do. That thought gives me a lot of strength and comfort.”She also revealed that the shoot marked a personal milestone, as it was the first time since Rishi Kapoor’s cancer treatment in New York that she had to leave her daughter behind in Delhi. Reflecting on the experience, she said, “Honestly, the biggest challenge was stepping into an entirely new world at this stage of life. There’s a certain vulnerability in starting fresh, but also a lot of excitement at the same time.”Talking about how her reality show experience helped her transition, she said, “Being in front of the camera for a show made me comfortable. It gave me a sense of ease and familiarity, which definitely made this transition smoother.” Neetu Kapoor had also made brief appearances on the show, speaking about returning to work after Rishi Kapoor’s passing. In ‘Daadi Ki Shaadi’, Neetu will be seen playing Riddhima’s on-screen mother as well. Speaking about the experience, Riddhima said, “Working with mom was incredibly special. I discovered how effortless and instinctive she is as an actor.” She also recalled her mother’s advice: “Stay natural and don’t overthink. Just feel the moment.” Adding to that, Riddhima said, “That really helped me ease into my performance.”Interestingly, it was Kapil Sharma who recommended her for the project. Riddhima shared, “I haven’t really asked him why directly, but I think he saw a certain honesty or relatability in me. I’m just grateful he recommended my name.” The film also stars Sarath Kumar and Sadia Khateeb, and is slated for a theatrical release on May 8.
