Rekha’s old airport video with fan sparks debate online: Watch

Rekha’s old airport video of ignoring a fan who waited 6 hours sparks intense social media debate - Watch

Veteran actor Rekha is at the center of an online debate after an old video from Mumbai airport resurfaced on social media. The clip shows her walking through the airport as a fan appeared to approach her for a selfie. Rekha moved past the fan and later posed for photographers, prompting mixed reactions online. Some users criticized her for not stopping, while others defended her right to personal space in a public place.

Rekha’s airport video goes viral

India Today reported that the resurfaced video quickly drew attention after a social media user claimed that the fan had waited six hours to meet Rekha. The user wrote, “Just look at Rekha here.”The post further claimed, “A fan waited 6 hours just to meet her, and she still ignored her to go pose for the paparazzi instead.” The same user added, “I still don’t understand why people are so obsessed with Bollywood celebs when most of them don’t even value their fans.”The video triggered strong reactions. Some users called out Rekha’s conduct and said the fan deserved better. One user commented, “Serves her right….ignorance is what she shd get when you give importance to any tucha pucha people who do not make any contributions to ur life (sic).”

Internet divided over Rekha-fan selfie row

Others supported Rekha and said fans should respect boundaries. One user wrote, “I’m with Rekha here. Have some self respect. She didn’t ask you to wait for 6hours at the airport. Stopping doing this bullshit and go take care of your family and yourself (sic).”Some users questioned the claim that the fan waited for six hours. One wrote, “How do you know fan was waiting for 6 hours you were also waiting(sic)?” Another said, “Don’t blame Rakha, she probably doesn’t even know whether the fan had been waiting for hours or had just arrived. The real problem is people willingly standing outside for 6 hours just to greet a celebrity instead of using that valuable time productively (sic).”A third user added, “How would Rekha know they waited 6 hours ? She just now exited the airport. Also there is no guarantee they waited 6 hours .. also airport is no location for fans and meet and greet. There were no promises made (sic).”The clip has restarted a familiar debate around celebrity culture, fan expectations, paparazzi coverage and personal boundaries. Airports often attract fans and photographers, but public appearances do not always mean stars have agreed to meet people waiting there.
