FWICE issues non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) recently issued a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh following reports of his alleged last-minute withdrawal from the project. The body reportedly claimed that losses linked to the film’s pre-production phase amounted to nearly Rs 45 crore.Earlier this week, FWICE also formally approached producer bodies, including the Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association (IMPPA) and the Producers Guild of India, seeking industry-wide intervention in the matter.

Ranveer Singh’s spokesperson breaks silence

Amid the controversy, Ranveer Singh’s spokesperson recently issued a statement saying that the actor holds “deep respect” for the film fraternity and has consciously chosen to remain silent on the issue.“Ranveer Singh holds the highest regard for the film fraternity and for everyone associated with the Don franchise. Throughout the recent developments surrounding Don 3, he has consciously chosen to maintain silence, believing that professional discussions and personal equations are best handled with dignity, maturity and mutual respect,” the statement read.The statement further added, “While several narratives and speculations have surfaced over time, Ranveer has never considered it necessary to respond publicly or contribute to conjecture. His focus remains firmly on his work and the commitments ahead.”According to the spokesperson, the actor has chosen “restraint and grace” while dealing with the controversy.“He continues to hold deep respect and goodwill for all those involved and sincerely wishes the franchise continued success. Choosing restraint and grace in moments like these has always been a conscious decision on his part, and he will continue to maintain the same stance.”

Ranveer visits Chamundeshwari Temple amid controversy

Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh recently offered prayers at the Chamundeshwari Temple following directions issued by the Karnataka High Court in connection with the Kantara mimicry case.In April, the actor reportedly submitted a revised affidavit along with an unconditional apology. The court subsequently directed him to offer prayers at the temple within four weeks.The controversy dates back to November last year, when Ranveer recreated a scene from Kantara during the closing ceremony of the International Film Festival of India in Goa, where Chamundi daiva possesses Rishab Shetty’s character.Ranveer had earlier apologised publicly, saying, “My intention was to highlight Rishabh’s incredible performance in the film. Actor to actor, I know how much it would take to perform that particular scene in the way that he did, for which he has my utmost admiration.”The actor’s temple visit came just a day after FWICE announced its non-cooperation directive against him following the reported Don 3 fallout.
