Nissan Motor India on Saturday reported a 218 per cent year-on-year increase in domestic wholesale sales in July 2026, marking a sharp turnaround for the automaker as customer deliveries of its newly launched flagship SUV, the Nissan Tekton, got underway.

According to the official press release, the company dispatched 4,518 units to dealers in the domestic market during the month. Export wholesales stood at 4,821 units, taking total wholesales to 9,339 units in July.

The performance comes after Nissan commenced customer deliveries of the Tekton on July 20, following its global premiere on July 9. The new SUV joins the Magnite and Gravite, giving the Japanese automaker a three-model portfolio in India.

“The 218 per cent year-on-year growth in domestic wholesales in July is a strong reflection of the momentum Nissan is building in India and the confidence customers continue to place in our brand. The commencement of customer deliveries for the all-new Nissan Tekton is another significant milestone, further strengthening our SUV portfolio and marking an important step in Nissan’s growth journey,” said Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India.

The company said the Tekton is aimed at strengthening its position in India’s growing SUV market. According to Vatsa, the SUV draws design inspiration from the Nissan Patrol and combines advanced safety technologies, driving dynamics and comfort with the company’s Nissan Care ownership package.

With the addition of the Tekton, Nissan said it is shifting from a single-product strategy to a broader three-model portfolio while continuing to expand its retail and service network across India. The company said strengthening customer touchpoints and enhancing the ownership experience remain central to its long-term growth strategy in the country.
