In a bold move, Ranveer Singh steps into the producer’s realm with ‘Pralay’, a gripping zombie thriller helmed by Jai Mehta. After some convincing, he has successfully brought Kalyani Priyadarshan on board for her first Bollywood appearance. The dynamic duo portrays a couple battling for survival amid the undead chaos, with filming slated to kick off this April.

Ranveer Singh is turning producer with his upcoming film ‘Pralay’. The movie will be a zombie thriller directed by Jai Mehta. And as a producer, Singh played a major role in getting Kalyani Priyadarshan onboard the film. Let’s learn more about what happened behind the scenes.

According to the Mid-Day report, Kalyani Priyadarshan, who played the lead in the Malayalam blockbuster ‘Lokah: Chapter 1—Chandra’, was confused if she should say yes to the Bollywood movie or not. Soon, Ranveer Singh came into the picture.A source told the publication that even though her father, filmmaker Priyadarshan, is known to everyone in Bollywood, the actress doesn’t have much knowledge about Hindi cinema. The person told the portal, “The actor, who is on a career high after ‘Lokah’s success, was taking her time to discern whether she should step into Hindi movies and if ‘Pralay’ would be the best launch vehicle.”The insider further told the website, “Since it’s his home production, Ranveer picked up the phone on her and convinced her. After a long chat, she understood that Ranveer and Jai are bringing a novel world with the movie and excitedly came on board.”

The film is a post-apocalyptic zombie thriller. The movie will feature Ranveer Singh and Kalyani Priyadarshan as husband and wife, who are fighting for survival. Co-produced by Sameer Nair and Hansal Mehta, the movie will go on floors in April this year. As per the same report, Kalyani Priyadarshan is in Mumbai to sign the deal and finalize her shooting dates with the producers.
