As Rani Mukerji commemorates three decades in the film industry, she sheds light on her husband, Aditya Chopra’s unpretentious personality, noting how he has never viewed his father’s illustrious legacy as a weight to bear. Rani Mukerji celebrated 30 years in cinema by engaging in a conversation with her filmmaker friend Karan Johar. During the candid chat, she talked about several topics, including her daughter Adira. Rani Mukerji says Aditya Chopra never carried the baggage of being Yash Chopra’s son

Rani Mukerji talked about her husband, Aditya Chopra, and shared that he likes to keep his life “really basic.” She called this quality of his “endearing.” The actress further shared that even she has come from “a very humble and simple background.” Praising her husband, Rani said, “The way he respected his parents, the way he went about his daily life—that really attracted me to him.”

Rani Mukerji further expressed that Aditya Chopra never tried to fit in the shoes of his legendary father’s name. She said, “He didn’t come with any baggage of being Yash Chopra’s son. He didn’t come with any baggage of being a very, very prolific filmmaker.”She went on to say, “If he had even an iota of air around him, I don’t think I would have ever fallen for him.”

In the same conversation, when Karan Johar shared an anecdote about Adira being obsessed with food, Rani Mukerji responded, saying, “She is truly Yash Chopra’s granddaughter.” The actress went on to add, “Sometimes I honestly feel that maybe she is Yash Chopra’s reincarnation.” The mother called her daughter “very creative” and one who writes well and is a “wonderful storyteller.” The actress stated that she feels her daughter has inherited qualities from father as well as her grandfather.

Karan Johar shares he was petrified of Aditya Chopra

After Rani praised her husband, Karan Johar quickly recalled how Aditya Chopra wanted his wedding to the actress to be absolutely private. He said, “I am petrified of your husband.”The ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ director further shared that Chopra had warned him about not leaking any information about their wedding. KJo said, “He turned around and told me, ‘If the wedding information leaks, it will be only because of you.’ I was so stressed.”Meanwhile, on the work front, Rani Mukerji is all set for the release of ‘Mardaani 3’.
