Priyanka’s sister Mannara looks puzzled as quiz her on Sonam Wangchuk

Priyanka Chopra’s cousin sister Mannara Chopra looks puzzled as paparazzi quiz her on Sonam Wangchuk: 'Mujhe nahi pata'

Mannara Chopra looked confused when paparazzi quizzed her on Sonam Wangchuk at a Goa event, repeatedly saying “Mujhe nahi pata” before walking away. The questions came as Wangchuk, on hunger strike since June 28 over the NEET row, was hospitalised in Delhi. Mannara’s viral video sparked reactions online.

Mannara Chopra, cousin of Priyanka Chopra, landed in an uncomfortable situation when paparazzi asked her about activist Sonam Wangchuk at a recent event in Goa on Saturday, July 18. A video capturing the exchange has since surfaced online, showing the actress declining to share her thoughts on the subject.

Mannara Chopra avoids commenting on Sonam Wangchuk

When photographers brought up Wangchuk, Mannara looked visibly puzzled and said, “Main iss baare mein kuch comment nahi karna chahungi.(I wouldn’t like to comment on this)” As the paparazzi pressed on with further questions, including her take on Aamir Khan’s remark that ‘3 Idiots’ wasn’t inspired by Sonam Wangchuk, she stuck to her stance, replying, “Mujhe nahi pata(I do not know).” Pressed again, Mannara glanced at Shiv Thakare with a confused look before saying, “Kya? Mujhe nahi pata, sorry(What? I don’t know, sorry.)” and moved on without continuing the conversation further.

Why Sonam Wangchuk was back in the news

The questions came at a time when Wangchuk was already back in the public eye. On Saturday, July 18, the activist was taken to Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital after wrapping up 20 days of his indefinite hunger strike. Delhi Police stated that the move for treatment was based on medical advice as well as directions issued by the Delhi High Court.

Sonam Wangchuk’s hunger strike over NEET row

Since June 28, Wangchuk had been observing an indefinite hunger strike in support of the CJP-led protest concerning alleged irregularities in the NEET examination and the reported student deaths tied to the issue.

Mannara Chopra’s video goes viral online

Meanwhile, the video of Mannara giving short, confused answers to the paparazzi has gone viral online. Many social media users have reacted to the clip and to her choice of not commenting on such a sensitive and politically charged topic.
