Actor Celina Jaitly has confirmed she is making her acting comeback after a long hiatus. The actor announced that her next project will be ‘Sister Nibedita,’ a film inspired by the life of Margaret Elizabeth Noble, who later became known as Sister Nivedita. The announcement comes during a challenging phase in Celina’s personal life. She is currently involved in an ongoing legal dispute with her estranged husband, Peter Haag. Celina shared the news with her followers on X, where she posted an emotional note explaining why she decided to step back into acting.

Actor shares an emotional message with fans

In her social media post, Celina spoke candidly about the difficult period she has been navigating. She said returning to films felt like the right decision and thanked everyone who has stood by her during this phase. She wrote, “Dear all…. It’s difficult but I have no other option but to return to my craft because that is what I do best and that is what will perhaps rescue me from whatever life has thrown my way. I hope to have your love and support in this journey and remain grateful to all who are standing by me and helping me get through these difficult times.”The heartfelt note received attention from fans, many of whom wished the actor success as she begins a new chapter in her career.

All about ‘Sister Nibedita’

Along with her announcement, Celina also shared details about the upcoming film.She revealed that ‘Sister Nibedita’ will be directed by Ram Kamal Mukherjee. The film will chronicle the remarkable life of Margaret Elizabeth Noble, the Irish educator who travelled to India after being inspired by Swami Vivekananda and devoted herself to education, social service and spiritual work. Celina said, “I will next be seen in the magnum opus ‘Sister Nibedita,’ directed by Ram Kamal Mukherjee and produced by ARITRA DAS and Sarbani Mukherjee. The film celebrates the extraordinary life of Margaret Elizabeth Noble, the Irish educator who followed Swami Vivekananda to India in 1898 and dedicated her life to India’s education, service and spiritual awakening.” The project marks Celina’s first film after a lengthy break from the screen.

Legal battle with estranged husband

Celina married Austrian entrepreneur and hotelier Peter Haag in 2011. The couple welcomed twin sons in 2012 and later became parents to another set of twins in 2017. Sadly, one of the newborn babies passed away shortly after birth because of a congenital heart condition.In November 2025, the actor filed a case against Peter Haag under the Domestic Violence Act. She alleged that she had faced domestic abuse over several years. Celina has also said that she has been separated from her children despite a joint custody order being in place. The legal proceedings remain ongoing.
