Pawan Kalyan’s much-anticipated action entertainer ‘They Call Him OG’ is proving to be a solid box office performer despite receiving mixed reviews. The film, directed by Sujeeth, has managed to sustain momentum through its second day. Reportedly the film is shining by taking its overall collection to a whopping Rs 104 crore worldwide in just two days.

Strong day 2 numbers despite dip

According to early estimates from the Sacnilk website, ‘OG’ collected Rs 19.25 crore (all languages) on Friday, September 26. While this marks a dip from its massive Day 1 earnings of Rs 63.75 crore, the film’s two-day India net now stands at Rs 84.75 crore, with Telugu audiences contributing the lion’s share. Adding its impressive Day 0 (premiere) collections of Rs 21 crore, the action drama has crossed the Rs 100 crore milestone smoothly.

Telugu audience drives occupancy

‘OG’ enjoyed an overall 41.57% occupancy in Telugu states on Friday. The evening and night shows picked up well. Night occupancy touched 51.79%. Morning shows stood at 32.60%. In Tamil Nadu, occupancy was modest as it was averaging 14% across shows, while the Hindi version saw a poor turnout with 7.58% occupancy overall.

Action flick led by Pawan Kalyan and Emraan Hashmi

The action-packed narrative is powered by Pawan Kalyan’s larger-than-life screen presence and it is one of the reasons driving fans to theaters in big numbers. Co-starring Priyanka Arul Mohan, Emraan Hashmi, Prakash Raj, Arjun Das, and Sriya Reddy, the film is actually getting mixed reactions from the audiences due to its underwhelming storyline. With Saturday and Sunday shows expected to perform even stronger, ‘OG’ is expected to have a solid run in cinemas for the upcoming days.DISCLAIMER: The box office numbers in this article are compiled from our proprietary sources and diverse public data.
