Norman Reedus and Helena Christensen's son Mingus Reedus ARRESTED for domestic assault; punched, choked and slammed victim to ground: Reports

Mingus Reedus, the son of ‘The Walking Dead’ actor, Norman Reedus and supermodel Helena Christensen, was arrested in New York City on Saturday morning (August 23) on charges of domestic assault.

Mingus taken into custody

According a report on Page Six, police responded to an emergency call from a woman who had allegedly ingested pills and threatened suicide at a Manhattan residence. During the incident, authorities claim that Mingus assaulted the woman. A police source told the outlet that Mingus allegedly ‘punched the victim in the leg, choked her, and slammed her to the ground’, leaving visible redness on her body. DCPI told the outlet that the 25-year-old model has since been formally charged with criminal obstruction of breathing and third-degree assault.

Model taken away in a police car

Photographs published by the New York Post show Mingus wearing a black T-shirt and green shorts with his hands behind his back, being escorted into the back of a police car.

Previous accounts of assault

This is not the first time Mingus has faced legal trouble. His run-in with the law comes nearly four years after his previous arrest for assaulting a woman at the San Gennaro festival in March 2022. ENews reports, at the time, a 24-year-old woman stated that a verbal altercation with Mingus escalated when he punched her in the face, causing her to suffer an injury beneath her left eye. He accepted a plea deal that downgraded the charge to disorderly conduct.

Mingus’ professional life

Mingus is a prominent name in the modelling industry. He has posed for top brands and even walked the runway for several high-fashion brands including Tommy Hilfiger and Versace. While he has not pursued acting opportunities with his famous dad, he has worked with his mom on photoshoots. Neither Norman Reedus nor Helena Christensen have issued a statement regarding their son’s latest arrest.
