‘Jana Nayagan’ leak row: Makers warn of civil and criminal action

Thalapathy Vijay’s ‘Jana Nayagan’ makers threaten legal action after scenes from the film leak: 'Strict civil and criminal proceedings'

Thalapathy Vijay’s ‘Jana Nayagan’ faces significant setbacks with HD leaks of its scenes and substantial portions online. The production house, KVN Productions LLP, has issued a stern warning, vowing to pursue stringent civil and criminal proceedings against all individuals involved in the piracy. They emphasize that every digital action is traceable and investigations are underway to identify and prosecute offenders.

Thalapathy Vijay’s upcoming movie ‘Jana Nayagan’ has been facing multiple hurdles, as earlier the movie could get a release date and now some scenes and even big parts of the movie were leaked online in HD quality. After these leaks, the production house of the film has made a strong statement stating criminal proceedings will be pursued against every offender.

‘Jana Nayagan’ makers issue strong statement

In a message shared on X (formerly Twitter) handle, they wrote, “We, KVN Productions LLP, are the Producers and exclusive copyright owners of the cinematograph film “Jana Nayagan”. It has come to our notice that certain scenes and clips from the said film and in some cases most of the film have been illegally accessed, copied and circulated by unidentified persons, posing a serious threat of digital piracy.”They said, “strict civil and criminal proceedings will be pursued against every offender without exception.” They made it clear that they will not leave anyone. They also said, “Every digital action is traceable.” The team has already started checking how the leak happened and who is behind it. “We hereby notify that downloading, viewing, storing, forwarding, sharing, uploading or circulating of such leaked content through WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, websites, torrents or any other medium constitutes a criminal offence and a violation of copyright laws. Every digital action is traceable, and we have already initiated necessary investigations including forensic investigations and complaints against persons involved and are actively identifying all others in the chain of circulation. Strict civil and criminal proceedings will be pursued against every offender without exception,” the note further read.

Legal action against offenders

The makers further asked the public not to engage with the leaked content in any manner and if they find any perpetrators, they can “face immediate legal action”. They concluded their note, writing, “If you receive such content, do not open, store, or forward it. Delete it immediately.”
