Muthu Kalai seeks help from Tamil Nadu CM Vijay for his wife's medical treatment.; 'Struggling for past 17 days in hospital'

Tamil actor Muthu Kalai sought help from Tamil Nadu chief minister Vijay to treat his ailing wife. Muthu Kalai, who has acted in Tamil cinema for many years, is well known for appearing in comedy scenes alongside popular stars like Vadivelu and Vivek. Apart from acting, he also inspired many people by completing three college degrees at the age of 50 and proving that age is never a barrier to education. Now, the actor is going through a painful personal situation after his wife, Malathi, suffered a brain hemorrhage and was admitted to the hospital.

Muthu Kalai’s emotional message to CM Vijay

Speaking emotionally about his wife’s health condition through a video message, Muthu Kalai said he has been struggling alone for the past 17 days. According to Muthu Kalai, his wife, Malathi, aged 47, underwent surgery after suffering bleeding in the brain. However, due to a severe infection after the operation, she has been facing breathing difficulties and remains unconscious in the hospital. Doctors have reportedly advised advanced treatment for her recovery. In this difficult situation, Muthu Kalai has requested Chief Minister Vijay to help arrange proper medical care for his wife. The emotional appeal has now drawn attention from fans and people in the film industry, with many hoping Vijay will extend support to his fellow actor.

From cinema struggles to becoming a popular comedy face

Muthu Kalai originally came to Chennai from Rajapalayam with dreams of becoming a stunt artist. Nevertheless, the path that the actor walked in the movies was not an easy one and came with many difficulties in the beginning. He is said to have done work for AVM Studios and taken various odd jobs until he started receiving acting roles. Gradually, he came to be known in Tamil comedies because of his appearances with the likes of Vadivelu and Vivek. Comedy scenes like the “Chicken 65” sequence and several memorable comedy tracks helped him gain recognition and become a busy supporting actor in Tamil cinema.
