Mohanlal’s recently released family entertainer ‘Hridayapoorvam’ is continuing to connect and attract audiences to theatres, even with the competition from superhero fantasy ‘Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra’. ‘Hridayapoorvam’ opened to positive reviews and goodness, it is cruising along nicely.

Box office numbers

According to early trade estimates reported by Sacnilk, ‘Hridayapoorvam’ earned around Rs 3.30 crore on Sunday on its 11th day in theatres.The film finished its first week with Rs 20 crore. Progressing into week 2, the film had Rs 2.70 crore on Friday, followed by Rs 3.30 crore on Saturday. With the early estimate for Sunday also being Rs 3.30 crore, the film is now up to Rs 29.30 crore.

Theatre occupancy

Attendance in Malayalam states was impressive as well. Morning shows had 55.38% occupancy. It was greatly assisted by more favourable numbers in the afternoon with 83.27%, then rising to a remarkable 90.22% in the evening and finishing strongly at 81.10% in the night shows.

About the film

Directed by Sathyan Anthikad, the film marks a reunion with the legendary actor Mohanlal after their last collaboration in 2015. The movie also stars Malavika Mohanan and Sangeeth Prathap in key roles, supported by a strong ensemble cast including Sangita Madhavan Nair, Siddique, Lalu Alex, and others. The film’s story revolves around Sandeep Balakrishnan (Mohanlal), a man who has undergone a heart transplant and travels from Kerala to Pune to attend the engagement of the donor’s daughter, Haritha.Filming took place in Kochi and Pune between February and May in 2025. Music composed by Justin Prabhakaran, cinematography by Anu Moothedath.
