'Mirai' box office collection day 9: The Teja Sajja starrer crosses Rs 73 crore mark

Teja Sajja’s pan-India spectacle ‘Mirai’ is showing no signs of slowing down at the ticket windows. After delivering a thunderous opening week, the film has now entered its second weekend on a high note.According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the fantasy adventure action film raked in an estimated Rs 5.15 crore on its second Saturday, that is Day 9. This comes as a huge bounce back after Friday, when the film dipped to its lowest figure of Rs 2.75 crore. With this, the total box office collection of the film now stands at an impressive Rs 73 crore. The first week itself was stellar, with the film grossing Rs 65.1 crore across languages. The major chunk of the total collections comes from the Telugu version, in which the film was originally made. Later, big contributions come from the Hindi release and small numbers are added by Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam versions.

Theater occupancy

Occupancy figures tell the story of how the film has grown through the day on its second Saturday. In the Hindi belt, ‘Mirai’ clocked an overall occupancy of 20.58 percent. Morning shows stood at 6.13 percent, which rose steadily through the afternoon at 18.99 percent, and increased during the night shows at 32.75 percent. The trend was even stronger in the Telugu states, where the film enjoyed a robust 45.80 percent overall occupancy. Morning shows registered 25.82 percent, climbing higher in the evening at 54.78 percent and touching nearly 60 percent during the night shows.

Directed and cinematographed by Karthik Gattamneni, the film tells the story of a Super Yodha who is destined to protect nine sacred scriptures.
