Mimicry artist - actor Pala Suresh found dead at 53; acted in Dulquer Salmaan's 'ABCD'; read more

Mimicry artist and actor Suresh Krishnan, fondly known as Pala Suresh passed away at the age of 53.As reported by Mathrubhumi News, Pala Suresh was found dead at his rented residence in Piravom on Sunday morning.

Failed to wake up at usual time causing suspicion

According to reports, Suresh had been undergoing treatment for a heart-related ailment at Kottayam Medical College Hospital. On Sunday, when he failed to wake up at his usual time, his family grew concerned. After breaking open the door, they rushed him to Piravom Taluk Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. It is suspected that he suffered a cardiac arrest in his sleep.For over three decades, Pala Suresh was a household name on mimicry stages across Kerala. He rose to prominence through stage shows and television programs. Pala Suresh gained special recognition for his witty and precise impersonations of political figures, including former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.His talent extended to films and television as well. One of his memorable film roles was in ‘ABCD: American-Born Confused Desi’ (2013). Pala Suresh played the role of a journalist alongside Dulquer Salmaan in the superhit film. ‘ABCD’ was directed by Martin Prakkat and was released in the year 2013. The movie also featured the actors Tovino Thomas, Lalu Alex, Vijayaraghavan and Kalpana in pivotal roles.Beyond cinema, he was a professional artist with the Kollam Narma troupe and had been actively associated with Cochin Rasika, continuing to charm audiences with his humor and versatility.

Family and final rites

Pala Suresh was the son of the late Balan and Omana of Vettathukunnel House, Vellilappilly, Ramapuram. He is survived by his wife Deepa, and two daughters—Devananda, who is pursuing nursing in Germany, and Devakrishna. His funeral will take place on Tuesday *August 19), at Kanittumala Cemetery in Piravom.
