Meghan Markle shares marriage advice in a sweet video

Meghan Markle shares heartfelt marriage advice with the bride, saying, 'Enjoy the wedding, but it's more about...'

Meghan Markle has offered a piece of personal wisdom to a bride on the eve of her wedding, and it is the kind of advice that speaks to someone who has clearly given marriage a great deal of thought. The Duchess of Sussex was filmed sending a warm video message to a woman named Ellie, just days before her big day.A fan shared the message on Instagram in which Meghan focused on the distinction between a wedding and a marriage. The clip appeared to have been filmed during her recent trip to Australia with Prince Harry.

What Meghan Markle said to the bride-to-be

In the clip, Meghan told the soon-to-be-married woman, “Ellie, I’m here with your dad. I just wanted to say congratulations on your wedding. Enjoy the wedding, but it’s more about the marriage. Have a wonderful, beautiful marriage and a lifetime of love. Sending you love all over the world. Your dad is awesome.” She then blew a kiss to the camera.

Meghan Markle on her own marriage to Prince Harry

Meghan and Harry married in 2018 in a ceremony at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, attended by the late Queen Elizabeth, King Charles, and Prince William. They are approaching their anniversary on May 19. The couple has since welcomed two children, Archie and Lilibet. In April 2025, Meghan appeared on ‘The Jamie Kern Lima Show’, where she was asked if she believes she and Harry will “be married forever.” She answered with a simple “Yes,” before adding, “He’s also a fox, if you haven’t noticed. My husband’s very, very handsome. But his heart is even more beautiful.”She continued, “There’s something that is not to be taken for granted when you have a partner and a spouse who is just so behind you. H, that man loves me so much. And you know, look what we built. We’ve built a beautiful life, and we have two healthy, beautiful children. And you know, I always think about it like the end of Super Mario Brothers when you get to the final, final level. And what’s the goal in Super Mario? They’re like, slay the dragon, save the princess. I’m like, that’s my husband. He’s just going to do whatever he can to make sure that our family is safe and protected, and we’re uplifted and still make time for date nights.”With their seventh wedding anniversary approaching, Meghan’s words to Ellie appear to reflect a philosophy she and Harry have clearly taken to heart themselves.
