Actor Radikaa Sarathkumar has strongly criticized the way some paparazzi and people behaved during the funeral of veteran Tamil filmmaker K Bhagyaraj. She said a funeral should be a time to say goodbye and not a chance to create content for social media.

According to Deccan Chronicle, speaking about the incident, she said, “There has to be a line. A funeral is a farewell, not a photo opportunity. At some point, compassion must be greater than content.”On Monday, Radikaa also shared an emotional tribute to K Bhagyaraj on X (formerly Twitter). She said the funeral, which should have been a quiet farewell, turned into a circus because of the crowd and constant recording.

Remembering her longtime friend, Radikaa wrote, “Final goodbye,to 50 years of a very special friendship ,a great creator,a evolved writer,a person who drew wonderful boundaries in Cinema,a man I shared many laughs, wonderful work, who stood by my family always in his quiet loyal way. A shocking goodbye, for his family, friends, associates and fans. A place where all needed to digress and mourn in silence, turned into a circus, for all who came to pay their respects. Where and when do we change or rather changed to this callousness. The government and industry need to sit and chart protocols and collective management , and give all dignity to the departed soul.”In another post she also asked the government and the film industry to create proper rules for covering funerals. She said there should be a restraining order for paparazzi during such occasions.
