Megan Fox’s ex-husband, Brian Austin Green, reveals divorce reason

Megan Fox's ex-husband, Brian Austin Green, says their relationship became toxic: 'I didn’t want to repeat things'

Brian Austin Green, popularly known as Megan Fox’s ex-husband and a renowned actor, opened up about his failed marriage with the actress. Dubbing ‘physical attraction’ as the reason for the divorce after a decade, the 52-year-old said that he prioritised infatuation over genuine connection. The ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ actor recalled toxicity in their relationship and insisted that you need to be friends first before tying the knot.

Brian Austin Green revealed his toxic patterns and approach towards relationships

Brian Austin Green shared his profound insights on relationships and what he learned over the years. “My ex and I were together for almost 15 years,” he said in an interview on the ‘I Do, Part 2’ podcast, before adding, “We were married for almost 10 years, and I led with physical attraction.” His initial approach revolved around being attracted to someone physically and forming an emotional connection around it.“First, I’d be physically attracted to somebody and then sort of build a relationship around that,” he said, adding that he decided to break the toxic patterns. “I was divorced, which I didn’t expect,” he continued, before adding about emotional and mental breakdown while being tied to Megan Fox, “I had three kids, was a single parent, and I knew that I didn’t want to repeat things that I had done. So I went through all sorts of therapy and all sorts of things to really figure out what it was that I brought into a relationship.”

Brian Austin Green’s second chance at love

Giving love and connection a second chance, Brian Austin Green changed his approach while connecting with his now-fiancée and ‘Dancing with the Stars’ alum, Sharna Burgess. “I genuinely believe that you need to be friends with someone first,” he said, remembering how they used to talk for hours during their breakfast before they ever became romantically linked.“We were really, really good, easy, natural friends to begin with,” Green said, and added the renowned vision, “Then we realised, in being physical, that we really worked well together, and then it became the relationship.” Green expressed that friendship becomes a strong foundation for a healthy relationship, but prioritising physical attraction might not last for a long time.

About Brian Austin Green’s relationships
