Madhuri: ‘Ryan is not interested in films, Arin works at Apple’

Madhuri Dixit opens up about her sons’ career choices: ‘My younger one Ryan is not interested in this whole film circus, Arin is working at Apple’

As her web series Mrs. Deshpande releases, Madhuri Dixit has opened up about her sons’ career interests, revealing that neither Arin nor Ryan is keen on entering the film industry. In a recent interview, the actor shared how her children view Bollywood and why they have chosen paths far removed from the limelight.

‘The older guy had inklings of movies, but his passion is music’

Talking about her elder son Arin, born in 2003, Madhuri said he briefly considered films but eventually found his calling elsewhere. “The older guy had some inklings of maybe wanting to be in movies, but I think his passion is music. So, he produces his music and he does all that,” she shared with Mid-day.She added that Arin balanced creativity with academics. “Even in school, he has done music as minor and CS engineering as the major,” Madhuri said, revealing that he has now graduated and is working at Apple. Elaborating further, she added, “He produces his own music. Even in school, he did music as minor and computer science engineering as his major,” and is currently involved in projects related to noise cancellation.

‘The younger one is a STEM guy’

Madhuri said her younger son Ryan, born in 2005, has no interest in films at all and is focused on science and technology. “The younger one is in college at USC. The younger one is a STEM guy. He is into technology and engineering, math, he is amazing though,” she said. When asked if she consciously kept her children away from the industry, Madhuri clarified that the decision was entirely theirs. “I didn’t really keep them away. I have taken them when they wanted to come with me, and if they didn’t, I respected that,” she said.

Describing how her children see the film world, she added, “My kids are different, my younger one is not interested in this whole circus, just out of it. It is a circus now, when you step out to go anywhere. The older guy is more out there and open, both of them have never been actually into the industry.” While Madhuri Dixit continues to balance her work in films and OTT, her sons, it seems, are charting their own careers—one rooted in music and technology, and the other firmly in the world of STEM, far away from Bollywood’s spotlight.
