Madhu Chopra remembers life in uniform with late husband

Priyanka Chopra's mother Madhu Chopra remembers life in uniform with late husband Dr Ashok Chopra ahead of Army Day 2026

Ahead of Army Day 2026, Dr Madhu Chopra, mother of actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas, shared a deeply personal throwback that offered a rare glimpse into her life of service with the Indian Army. Posting a photograph of herself and her late husband, Dr Ashok Chopra, dressed in their Army uniforms, Madhu reflected on the years that shaped their family and values.

‘A quiet throwback to a life of service’

Taking to Instagram, Madhu revisited her days as an Army doctor and spoke about the discipline, duty, and responsibility that defined her journey. In an emotional note, she wrote, “A quiet throwback to a life of service. Dr. Ashok and I, in uniform—serving as doctors in the Indian Army, caring for our people while living the discipline and duty of military life. These years shaped our family, our values, and the way we raised Priyanka and Siddharth. Forever proud to have served, and forever grateful to the armed forces and the sacrifices they represent.”The post struck an emotional chord online, with several users praising the Chopra family’s contribution to the country and remembering Dr Ashok Chopra, who passed away in 2013. Priyanka Chopra has often spoken about how her parents’ Army background influenced her upbringing, crediting it for instilling discipline, resilience, and emotional strength.

From life lessons to family moments

Madhu Chopra has been sharing intimate family moments on social media as well. She recently celebrated her granddaughter Malti Marie’s fourth birthday, posting a series of pictures featuring Malti with Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas. Alongside the post, she wrote, “You made me a grandmom and filled my life with magic. Happy fourth birthday, my angel.” On the work front, Priyanka Chopra is set to return to the action genre with The Bluff. The film’s recently released trailer has already sparked conversations online, with fans praising her intense new avatar and eagerly awaiting her next global outing.
