Over the past 38 days Dulquer Salmaan produced, Kalyani Priyadarshan and Naslen headlined Lokah: Chapter 1- Chandra , directed by Dominic Arun has set records after records across the country. In these 38 days it has become the highest grossing female led film from South of India to becoming the 2nd highest grossing female led film of India. It has also become the highest grossing Malayalam film in the country and on Saturday it has also become the highest grossing Malayalam film at the Malayalam box office beating Mohanlal’s Thudarum. The total collection of Lokah stands at Rs 152.96 crore across languages with Malayalam version contributing Rs 119.46 crore. With this the film has now become the biggest collection ever from a Malayalam film going past Mohanlal’s biggest hit Thudarum which had collected Rs 118.6 crore while the total collection of the film stood at Rs 122 crore across languages. Lokah is also on road to become the first Malayalam film to cross Rs 300 crore across the globe, it’s global total currently stands at Rs 297 crore. Over Dussehra weekend the film was expected to grow but thanks to Rishab Shetty’s Kantara : A Legend Chapter , it’s growth has been shunted.But with Dulquer claiming that he’s in no rush to release Lokah on OTT anytime soon and film looking to cross Rs 300 crore mark the film will stay in cinema halls for long. Lokah: Chapter 1- Chandra is part of a 5 part universe and makers have recently announced the second part of the film which will be headlined by Tovino Thomas with Dulquer playing a cameo. The film will once again be directed by Domnic Arun. While the third part will be with Dulquer himself and the fourth part will have Mammootty playing the lead with 5th part seeing all the characters coming together for an epic finale.
