Karan Johar may have set up a grand launch for Ibrahim Ali Khan in the film ‘Nadaaniyan’, but according to the latest reports, the Bollywood filmmaker has been left rather hurt and disappointed by the star kid’s honest reaction to the film.
Karan ‘hurt’ by Ibrahim’s comment
Khan, who made his film debut under Johar’s banner, raised eyebrows with his recent interview when he described the film as “really bad.” This reaction came as a stark contrast to the actor’s previous comments, defending the movie. According to a report Deccan Chronicle, Ibrahim’s remarks also took Johar and his close circle by surprise. The report quotes a source close to the filmmaker who claimed that the filmmaker is no stranger to “ingratitude” from his young talents. “He had promised to launch Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s son, and he kept his word.” The report goes on to state that KJo even lent his support to Ibrahim’s second film ‘Sarzameen’, despite being advised against it. Interestingly, the film, which had a digital release, also failed to create as much buzz online.
What Ibrahim said about the film
In a conversation with Esquire India, Khan admitted that the Netflix release failed to live up to expectations.“After Nadaaniyan, the hype has dropped real bad,” he said and went on to add that the trolling has not stopped. “I constantly feel bad about it,” he said and admitted, “I’m just gonna go on record and say that it was a really bad film.”‘Nadaaniyan’ featured Ibrahim alongside Khushi Kapoor.
Ibrahim’s next film
Looking to shake off the poor reception to his first two films, Ibrahim is now reportedly preparing for the release of his first theatrical release, titled ‘Diler’, directed by Kunal Deshmukh.
