Suriya’s fantasy action entertainer ‘Karuppu’ witnessed a major boost at the box office during its third weekend. The film recorded a strong increase in collections and showed fresh momentum after slower weekday numbers.

Strong weekend growth pushes ‘Karuppu’s numbers up

‘Karuppu’ delivered a significant rise on Day 16. According to Sacnilk, Day 16 collection of Rs 5.15 crore represented a 58.5 percent growth from Day 15 collections of Rs 3.25 crore.On Day 16, ‘Karuppu’ collected Rs 5.15 crore net across 3,292 shows. This pushed its total India net collections to Rs 176.55 crore. The film’s India gross collection now stands at Rs 204.21 crore.’Karuppu’ had ended its first week with Rs 113.85 crore. The second week contributed another Rs 54.30 crore to the overall total. The film had collected Rs 10.70 crore on Day 6 and Rs 8.10 crore on Day 7 during its opening week. During the second week, Day 13 brought Rs 4 crore while Day 14 added Rs 4.95 crore.

‘Karuppu’s overseas performance remains steady

International markets also continued adding to the film’s growing worldwide total. The film collected Rs 2 crore overseas on Day 16. Total overseas collections have now reached Rs 77.75 crore. ‘Karuppu’ has now touched Rs 281.96 crore worldwide. The film is now moving closer toward the Rs 300 crore milestone globally.Tamil Nadu collected ₹4.50 crore in gross collections. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana followed with Rs 78 lakhs . Karnataka contributed Rs 45 lakhs while Kerala added Rs 15 lakhs. The Rest of India market brought another Rs5 lakhs.Tamil occupancy also remained healthy through the day. Overall occupancy stood at 34.65 percent.Night occupancy touched 47.54 percent which reflected stronger audience turnout during late shows.’Karuppu’ is a mythological mass entertainer directed by RJ Balaji.
