Suriya and Trisha Krishnan’s ‘Karuppu’ continued its theatrical run on Day 12, though the film experienced a noticeable decline in collections following its strong second weekend. Directed by RJ Balaji, the mythological mass entertainer collected Rs 4.45 crore net in India on its second Tuesday. According to Sacnilk, the Day 12 figure represents a 24.6 percent drop from the Rs 5.90 crore net earned on Monday. The film played across 4,470 shows on Tuesday.

‘Karuppu’ worldwide collection reaches Rs 253.26 crore

‘Karuppu’ has now crossed another major milestone at the global box office. With Rs 4.45 crore net collected in India on Day 12 and Rs 1 crore added from overseas markets, the film’s worldwide total has climbed to Rs 253.26 crore.The film’s overseas gross collection now stands at Rs 69 crore. Meanwhile, the India gross collection has reached Rs 184.26 crore. The cumulative India net collection currently stands at Rs 159.20 crore.

Tamil version remains the driving force for Suriya film

The Tamil version once again led the film’s performance on Day 12. It contributed Rs 3.65 crore net from 3,073 shows while recording an occupancy of 25 percent.The Telugu version added Rs 80 lakhs net from 1,397 shows and registered an occupancy of 18 percent. The film’s total India net collection of Rs 159.20 crore has been built primarily on its exceptional performance in Tamil Nadu. However, contributions from neighbouring states and overseas territories have also played an important role in pushing the film beyond the Rs 250 crore worldwide mark.Tamil Nadu remained the biggest contributor to ‘Karuppu’s day 12 earnings. The state generated Rs 3.70 crore gross.According to the state-wise gross collection report, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana contributed Rs 80 lakhs. Karnataka added Rs 30 lakhs while Kerala contributed Rs 21 lakhs. The rest of India generated Rs 8 lakhs, taking the overall Day 12 gross total to Rs 5.09 crore.

On Day 12, the Tamil version recorded an overall occupancy of 26.15 percent. Occupancy improved through the day by rising from 16.77 percent in morning shows to 30.38 percent during night shows.’Karuppu’ is a mythological mass entertainer directed by RJ Balaji.
