Rishab Shetty’s action thriller ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ continues to dominate the box office with no signs of slowing down. The film has entered the Rs 500 crore club, proving its massive popularity across India. The drama saw a huge jump in its earnings on Sunday, 19 October 2025, crossing the Rs 520 crore mark.

Rishab Shetty’s film sees major Sunday jump

As reported by Sacnilk, ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ collected around Rs 17.50 crore on its day 18, taking its total India net collection to Rs 524.15 crore across all languages. This marks a strong rise from Saturday’s Rs 12.90 crore, showing that the film’s appeal remains powerful even after more than two weeks in cinemas.The sharp growth reflects how audiences are still drawn to Rishab Shetty’s larger-than-life storytelling and the film’s deep cultural roots. With Diwali festivities adding excitement, the movie’s collections are expected to stay strong through the week.

Film maintains steady run

Despite entering its third week, the film continued to perform exceptionally well. On day 15, it collected Rs 8.85 crore, followed by Rs 8.5 crore on day 16 (third Friday) and Rs 12.50 crore on day 17 (third Saturday). ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ has been performing well across languages, attracting viewers from all corners of the country. Strong word-of-mouth and repeat viewings have helped it maintain a solid position in theatres.

Film expected to benefit from Diwali buzz

With Diwali celebrations in full swing, the movie is expected to see steady numbers even during weekdays. However, it will soon face competition from Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s upcoming film ‘Thamma’, releasing on 21 October.

Rishab Shetty marks success with temple visit

To celebrate the blockbuster success of ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’, Rishab Shetty visited the Arulmigu Ramanathaswamy Temple in Rameswaram. Sharing glimpses of his spiritual visit on X (formerly Twitter), the actor-director expressed his heartfelt gratitude to fans.He wrote, “At the holy shrine of Arulmigu Ramanathaswamy Temple, Rameswaram Sought divine blessings and offered gratitude for the immense love and support showered on #BlockbusterKantara Celebrate the divine energy of #KantaraChapter1, running successfully in cinemas near you! (sic).” Fans appreciated the filmmaker’s gesture and his humble way of thanking the audience for making his film a grand success.
