Janhvi Kapoor responds to trolling over saying ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ at Dahi Handi event: 'Unke bolne ke baad nahi bolti toh problem'

Janhvi Kapoor, who has been busy promoting her upcoming film Param Sundari, recently attended a Dahi Handi event on the occasion of Janmashtami. The actor faced online trolling after a video surfaced of her saying “Bharat Mata ki Jai” on stage. Reacting to the memes, Janhvi took to Instagram to clarify the context and expressed her pride in raising the slogan.Sharing a video clip from the event, Janhvi wrote, “Just for context full video lol. Unke bolne ke baad nahi bolti toh problem, aur bolo toh bhi video ko kaat ke meme material (If I did not say the slogan after him then it would be a problem, and now that I have said it, the video gets cut and made into meme material).”

‘Not just on Janmashtami, will say it every day’The actor further added that the slogan was not limited to a festival. “Waise sirf Janmashtami ke din nahi roz bolungi Bharat Mata ki Jaiiiiii! (Not only on Janmashtami, I will say Bharat Mata ki Jai every single day),” she posted along with folded hands and Indian flag emojis.

At the event, Janhvi also addressed the crowd in Marathi, wishing them on the festival and encouraging them to watch Param Sundari in theatres on August 29.Directed by Dinesh Vijan, Param Sundari is a romantic comedy exploring a cross-cultural love story between a boy from Delhi (Sidharth Malhotra) and a girl from Kerala (Janhvi Kapoor). The film also stars Rajeev Khandelwal and Aakash Dahiya in pivotal roles and is scheduled for release on August 29.
